ASP.NET FileUpload Control tutorials

  • The FileUpload control displays a text box control and a browse button that enable users to select a file on the client and upload it to the Web server.

  • The user specifies the file to upload by entering the full path of the file on the local computer (for example, C:\DemoFiles\UploadFile_example.txt) in the text box of the control. Alternately, the user can select the file by clicking the Browse button, and then locating it in the Choose File dialog box.

 

Syntax:

The syntax of FileUpload control is:

Properties

Description

AllowMultiple

This property specifies a value that specifies whether multiple files can be selected for upload.

Enabled

Specify a value indicating whether the Web server control is enabled.

Events

Read-only, returns a list of event handler delegates for the control

FileBytes

Returns an array of the bytes in a file that is specified by using a FileUpload control

FileContent

Returns a Stream object that points to a file to upload using the FileUpload control.

FileName

Returns the name of a file on a client to upload using the FileUpload control

HashAttributes

Specifies a value indicating whether the control has attributes set.

HashFile

Specifies a value that indicates whether the FileUpload control contains a file

HashFiles

Specifies a value that indicates whether any files have been uploaded

PostedFile

Specifies the underlying HttpPostedFile object for a file that is uploaded by using the FileUpload control

PostedFiles

Returns the list of Uploaded files
