1. The RequiredFieldValidator tutorials

  • The RequiredFieldValidator control is simple validation control, which checks to see if the data is entered for the input control. You can have a RequiredFieldValidator control for each form element on which you wish to enforce Mandatory Field rule.

  • i.e make an input control a required field.

  • The following table lists the properties of the RequiredFieldValidator control.

 

Properties

Description

ControlToValidate

This property sets the name of the control to validate.

Display

This property sets the display appearance of the validator control on the Web page

ErrorMessage

This property sets the error message displayed for this control

RunAt

Specifies that this control runs on the server

 

  • Example: From below example we have created Simple User Registration Form that contains user FirstName, LastName, Address1, Address2, City, and State. *(asterisk) field shows the mandataro field. The screen shot of the form is shown below.
