<ACRONYM> tag tutorials

  • The HTML acronym element defines its content as an acronym, and is commonly used together with the title attribute to expand/explain the acronym.

  • Visual browsers usually render the content of the title attribute as a tool tip when the user puts the mouse pointer over the element for a short period of time. But in this case, you must not forget that the title attribute provides the expansion/explanation of the acronym.

  • An acronym can be spoken as if it were a word, example NATO, NASA, ASAP, GUI.
