Basic Requirement of Java Program tutorials

  • Java is an object oriented programming language. In Object Oriented Programming methodology a program consists of various objects that interact with each other by means of actions.

  • The actions that an object may take are called methods.

  • Objects of the same kind are said to have the same type or, more often, are said to be in the same class.

  • For example, let us consider a Circle object. It has attributes like radius and pi.

  • Depending upon the design, it may need ways for accepting the values of these attributes, calculating area and display details.

package keyword

  • package is the first line in a Java program if you want to create a package or organizing your Java class in a module.

  • A Java package is a mechanism for organizing Java classes into namespaces similar to the modules of Modula. Java packages can be stored in compressed files called JAR files

  • A package provides a unique namespace for the types it contains.

  • Classes in the same package can access each other's package-access members.

import keyword

  • Usually import is the first line in Java program if you are not creating package.

  • import is use for making available one or all the classes in a package to the current source file.

  • By default all Java program import “java.lang.*” package so you no need to import this package explicitly.

class keyword

  • A class is a blueprint or prototype that defines the variables and the methods (functions) common to all objects of a certain kind.

Member variable

  • Variables are attributes or data members of a class, used for storing data.

Member function

  • Functions are set of statements that perform a specific task. The member functions of a class are declared within the class.

main()

  • It is the most important method of any Java program. The first statement executed will be at the beginning of method called main().

  • No instance of main() method is needed because it is declare as static.

Semicolon (;)

  • At the end of each Java program statement there must be a ; (semicolon).
