Remote Assistance tutorials

  • It provides a mechanism for requesting help for your computer through Windows Messenger, E-mail or via Sending INVITITION file. The computer requesting help and computer providing help must be using WIN XP or WINDOWS 2003.

 

STEPS TO REQUEST REMOTE ASSISTANCE (SEND INVITATION)

• Start -> Control Panel -> System -> Remote

þ Turn On Remote Assistance and allow invitations to be sent from this computer

• Select START - HELP and SUPPORT

• From Support Center Window, Click “REMOTE ASSISTANCE” option

• It gives 2 options select “INVITE SOMEONE FOR HELP”

• Now it ask how you want to send Invitation via

  • Windows Messanger

  • Via E-mail

  • Send Invitation via file (Advance)

• It ask “USER NAME” and “Time” for which your invitation will be valid

• Finally it ask for “PASSWORD” and “SAVE this INVITATION” to some Share folder

• Ask the User who want to Assist you over Phone/Email/Message and give them PW

• Once the user who wants to provide Assistance receive Invitation in form of file from folder or Email attachment of file such as “RAInvitation.msrcincident

• Double-click on the file name

• Person Providing Assistance and User requesting Assistance must be connected vie Internet or Local Area Network

• Enter Password.
