Share Folder tutorials

You can share Folder/File by 2 methods

1) Windows Server 2008 new method:-

  • My computer – Select Drive and Folder – Right Click – Share

  • It gives you new dialogue box, where you can Add new users who can share that folder/File.

  • Change the Permission level to Reader (as Read only ) / Contributor (as Modify) / Co-owner (as full permission) / Remove permission.

  • Click on Share Button

  • It then ask you whether you want to make share available for Private or Public network

  • If you choose public network you can then email link to others that you have shared this folder for share or you may copy the share folder link to some file.

2) Regular Old Windows method

  • My computer – Select Drive and Folder – Right Click Properties – Select Sharing

  • It gives you new dialogue box, where you can select “Share this folder” OR Click New Share –

  • Select Permission - Add new users who can share that folder/File.

  • Change the Permission level to Read / Change or Full Control – Select Allow /Deny.

  • Click on Advance Permission you can restrict total number of users who can share Folder/File at a time.
