  • Windows 7 is the Windows operating system from Microsoft for use on Desktop, Notebook and Laptop computers.

  • Windows 7 is succeeded by Windows 8 Operating System.

  • It provides additional features such as BitLocker, AppLocker, Windows Search, Windows Touch, full 64 bit support and improvements in many Windows feature.

  • Its Taskbar has been visually changed, where old Quick Launch Toolbar has been replaced with the ability to pin the applications to taskbar.

  • New additions to components include Internet Explorer 8, Windows Media Player 12, Windows Media Center, Windows Search and Windows Gadget Platform.

  • A new Version of Microsoft Virtual PC was avaiable with Windows 7.

  • It also supports the mounting of Virtual Hard Disk (VHD) as normal data storage.

  • The Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) of Windows 7 is enhanced to support real-time multimedia application including Video playback and 3D Games.

  • Windows Recovery Environment has replaced Recovery Console of Windows XP.
