System Restore tutorials

  • If after installing new device or software, if you notice unusual symptom or malfunction of computer problem, you may opt for Windows Restore option.

  • System restore will allow you to revert settings back to previous state without losing any personal files or data.

 

Exercise Create System Restore

  1. In the next demonstration we will first create Restore point.

  2. First of all Right Click on Computer, and Select Properties, from left side penal Select Advance System Settings option.

  3. This will open System Properties dialog box window, from there choose System Protection Penal.

  4. Another way - Press Windows Key and on Start screen, type System Restore. Notice you might not find anything in App. Select Setting and it gives you choice on left side, select Create a Restore Point option.

  5. This will open up settings for system Restore.

  6. The first thing you will need to check, whether your drive has system Protection turned on or not. Click on Configure button to Turn On or Disable System Protection.

  7. If you want you can adjust the disk Space used for system protection. As spaces fills up, older Restore points will be deleted to make space for new restore points.

  8. Now Click on Create Button to create new Restore Point. It will ask you to enter some description so you can easily recognize the right restore point.

  9. Windows will now create new restore point. And when all done it will display message.

 

Exercise Restoring from a Restore Point.

  1. Note :- If you restore to very old restore point, some software and Drivers might get uninstalled.

  2. First of all Right Click on Computer, and Select Properties, from left side penal Select Advance System Settings option.

  3. This will open System Properties dialog box window, from there choose System Protection Penal.

  4. Another way - Press Windows Key and on Start screen, type System Restore. Notice you might not find anything in App. Select Setting and it gives you choice on left side, select Create a Restore Point option.

  5. Click on System Restore Button. Remember that you can undo system changes by reverting your computer to previous restore point.

  6. From System Restore Wizard, click on Next button.

  7. Next itwill show you Date and time, description and type of Restore point.

  8. Finally click on confirm your restore point by clicking Finish button.
